Mighty Blue Ocean, 2004 AQHA colt, with handler Candace Keyes.

October, 2005

Our first outing for October was the first annual fall Horse Affair open classic, in Albany. We took Mighty and Sunshine, and had a ball. Mighty won the In-hand trail futurity, and took the In-hand trail championship as well. Sunshine placed third in the weanling halter futurity, and second in In-hand trail -her first time shown in that!

Our next show was an open show here in Boring. Sunshine placed second in weanling/yearling halter, and Dusty placed second in two and over stallions. Dusty and I then did a full afternoon of western pleasure classes, and never placed below third, with seconds in most of his classes. Pretty good, since these were not split by age at all!

To finish up the season, we attended the annual Halloween show at NWEEC in Boring. This year, it was huge! Classes ranged from 15-30 -the biggest I have ever been in. Still, Dusty did us proud when he won the junior trail! He and Sky were a big hit as tigers in the costume class, too -how cute :)

September, 2005

What a busy month for showing. Dusty had his first show under saddle, winning the junior trail! He went reserve Grand at halter and picked up several seconds and a third in the western pleasure as well. Mighty won the in-hand trail at the same show. He then went on to place in the top ten at the National Foundation Stallion Service Program Futurity, the most competitive and highest money earning In-hand trail futurity in the nation.

August, 2005

Our 2005 babies had their first outing at the IEBHA Summer Spectacular in Spokane, WA. Mid Knight Sunshine, a 2005 palomino dun filly by Smoky Blue Knight and out of Dawn With Dignity, was reserve futurity champion in the weanling filly class. Hollywood Skies, 2005 dun colt by Hotrod Holi and out of Miss Modern Two, took two firsts and two thirds in dun factor, for four ABRA points total. Congratulations, kids!

April, 2005

Our 2005 show season has started off with a bang! Mighty earned first place ribbons under both judges in in-hand trail at the Boring OHA show, April 2005. This was his first time out in in-hand trail, and we are very proud of him. Look for him this year at NFQHA shows and OHA shows in Oregon.

Stay tuned for more results as our 2005 season progresses!
